Anna Politkovskaya was born on the 30th of august in 1958 in New York. She was a Russian journalist with Russian and American citizenship.
She became famous by making reports about the second Chechen war , where lots of journalists and workers were murdered. She also wrote some books . The most important are The Putin's Russia and The Second Chechen War. She died murdered on the 7th of october 2006 in Moscú.
Politkovskaya wrote critic articles of the Chechen War.
She wrote a book , "Putin's Russia: Life in a failed democracy", a critic of Putin's federal presence , including his politics during the Second Chechen War. In this book , she also accused the Russian Secret Service of suppressing all freedoms.
She said:"We are rushing to the sovietic abyss , everything that we have left is Internet".
